Detroit City FC Continues Perfect Start with 3-1 Win

Detroit City FC (DCFC) extended their unbeaten start to the season with a convincing 3-1 victory over Oakland Roots SC at Keyworth Stadium on Saturday.

The win marks DCFC's second straight victory, following their season-opening 2-0 triumph over FC Tulsa. The club now sits atop the USL Championship standings with a perfect 2-0-0 record.

DCFC took an early lead in the 12th minute when Kharlton Belmar converted a penalty kick. Oakland Roots equalized in the 35th minute through Emrah Klimenta, but DCFC regained the lead just before halftime with a goal from Antoine Hoppenot.

In the second half, DCFC put the game out of reach in the 72nd minute when Maxi Rodriguez scored a stunning goal from distance. The win was DCFC's first-ever victory over Oakland Roots, and it extends their unbeaten streak at Keyworth Stadium to nine matches.
